What are the current freight rates?
The freight rates can vary on daily basis, therefore, we have stopped publishing them.
We can only offer an estimate once we see committment from your side.
The true freight rate, however, can only be confirmed on the day the contract is signed and when a bank confirmation is sent.
Please note that the freight rate is paid directly to the freight company.
What are the factors that determine freight cost?
There are many factors that influence the final price of freigh rate such as
volume, destination country,
destination port (for the port we need the draft of the port and the daily discharge rate etc.),
any waiting to be expected in that port,
unloading facilities.
What is the loading rate in Antalya and how quickly do you start transporting upon opening L/C?
Normally loading rate is 2,000 MT per day which could be increased to 4,000 MT per day so we are talking about up to 25 days for 50,000 MT per month.
It can be done much quicker depending on the volume of other deliveries made at the same time.
The first 2,000 MT is usually delivered to the port between 1.5-2 days.
Why is transportation to Iraq from Turkey currently so expensive?
At the moment hardly anyone sends cement to Iraq to the southern port by sea from Turkey.
The port is not secure and, therefore, not many shippers are willing to go there.
Depending on the destination in Iraq we either send by road to the Northern part of Iraq or by road to the rest of Iraq through Syria.
Bear in mind that a lot of trucks are required to make a delivery, given that most trucks only carry 25 MT.
Do you accept L/C on export to Iraq?
Please be advised according to incoterms and UN regulations all exports to Iraq are on pre payment basis.
However, we are willing to work on once transferable L/C.
Libya - the price, delivery and custom clearance?
We usually send cement to Bengazi Port, because Tripoli port is very congested.
They require many formalities, and never ending requests.
The price, therefore, can vary up to 1-2 USD more.
We strongly advise that your inspector comes to Turkey and take samples for analysis in Libya in order to save time.
If the samples are left to be taken when the ship arrives in Libya there is very big possibility a demurrage will be incurred due to delays.
Apart from that we can finish the paper formality here in Turkey fairly quickly, but then the actual bureaucracy in Libya - we cannot comment on I am afraid.
We had a lower quote from a manufacturing plant for 42.5 OPC in Turkley. How is this possible?
Please note, that when we quote 42.5 OPC the price is based on CEM 1 (high quality) in sling 50 kg bags.
Big bags may be slightly cheaper, which we can also offer. Therefore, when comparing make sure you are comparing for the right specification.
We are in contact with all of Turkish plants, we know what the market price is and offer a competitive price.
There are a number of Turkish factories with very small capacity between 750-1000 ton per day and they do give one or two dollar below the market rate,
but these are for small ships of say 3000-5000 ton, whereas for big ships and big orders it is really very expensive due to delay in finalizing loading and having to pay very high demurrage penalties.
Also these factories cannot ship immediately, but only 2-3 months later that is after receiving the payment or L/C which is another loss.
Are you able to provide proof of production (POP) documents?
Yes, we can give a proof of production for 1,000,000 MT per year.
However, POP documents are misleading because they are not binding.
What do these type of cement mean?
Type N: for exterior, above-grade walls.
Type N is a medium compressive-strength (750 psi) mortar made of 1 part Portland cement, 1 part lime and 6 parts sand.
Type N is recommended for most exterior, above-grade walls exposed to severe weather, including chimneys.
Type N/R: As above but an optional suffix, R, may be added to the cement type (for example, N-R) if laboratory testing (C 227) indicates the cement is resistant to alkali-silica reactivity (ASR).
Type V: principally where soils or groundwater's have a high sulfate.
This type of cement gains strength more slowly than Type I cement and is used only in concrete exposed to severe sulfate action - principally where soils or groundwater's have a high sulfate content.
This cement is particularly effective for structures such as sewage treatment plants and septic tanks.
What does the price depend on?
Please remember that Cement prices are dependant on a number of factors which must be taken into account, as these will affect your final price!
These factors include: total volume, shipment size & frequency, payment terms, discharge rate and season.
Can I have my own design on cement bags?
In Turkey, we could print your design for 2-3 different colour.
White lable solution (own branding) is available and can be discussed.
What packaging is bulk cement sold in?
Bulk cement is sold in 1MT or 1.5MT jumbo bags (sling bags). The volume of the bag depends on the manufacturer.
